Aaron Timms  

Aaron Timms is Senior Writer of Emerging Markets for Institutional Investor. Before holding this position Mr. Timms was a Wall Street reporter for The Deal LLC.
Preceding this, Mr. Timms was an Associate specializing in Emerging Markets Research for JP Morgan Chase. His earlier experience includes being a Judge’s Associate at the Federal Court of Australia and a journalist of "The Sydney Morning Herald" for Fairfax Media.
His extensive educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, and a Master of International Affairs specializing in Economic Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Alexander Fleiss  

Alexander Fleiss serves as Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Rebellion Research, a Global Macro hedge fund and financial advisory that invests across all asset classes and is based in New York. Mr. Fleiss also oversees the firm's institutional research division, Rebellion Economics, which offers coverage of 44 countries. Mr. Fleiss has spoken about Artificial Intelligence investing at conferences, universities, the book Dark Pools, Fox News, BusinessWeek, Bloomberg News, Geo Magazine, Institutional Investor and the Wall Street Journal.
Prior to co-founding Rebellion Research in 2007, Mr. Fleiss served as a Principal at KMF Partners LP, a long-short US equity fund. While at KMF, he was primarily responsible for investments in the financial service, technology and consumer industries. Mr. Fleiss began his investment career as an analyst for Sloate, Weisman, Murray & Co which was acquired by Neuberger Berman. Mr. Fleiss developed investment algorithms with the firm's CEO, Laura Sloate who is now a partner at Neuberger Berman and was featured in the book Investment Gurus. Mr. Fleiss received a BA Degree from Amherst College.


Alison Graham is the Chief Investment Officer of Voltan Capital Management and portfolio manager of Voltan Frontier Markets Fund. Ms. Graham has over seventeen years’ experience in emerging and frontier markets finance. Until 1998, she was a partner and senior analyst for Latin American equities at the investment bank Caspian Securities. In 1998, she moved to Moscow to join United Financial Group where she was responsible for equity analysis and corporate due diligence on the Russian power sector. Since 2000, Ms. Graham has managed Voltan's frontier markets advisory business including trading across the fund's universe of sixty early-stage emerging markets. She holds a Master's degree from the University of California at Berkeley, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is fluent in six languages.


Danielle Tierney is an analyst at Aite Group, specializing in the Latin American capital markets covering equity and derivatives market structure, exchanges, algorithmic and high frequency trading, and macroeconomic and regulatory drivers. She also covers buy-side equity research, buy-side macro trends (hedge fund and asset management, ETFs, Mutual Funds), research portals, and market data.
Ms. Tierney brings to Aite Group a strong understanding of capital markets structure and a broad knowledge of the financial services industry. Before joining the firm, she served as an equity research associate at Jefferies & Co. as part of a team analyzing U.S.-listed stocks, where she monitored industry trends and company fundamentals to help formulate investment recommendations. Prior to that, she was a member of the Emerging Markets Equity team at Wellington Management, where she conducted research on a variety of industries and events in the Latin American market.
She has been quoted extensively in the press, in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Latin Finance, Financial News, FTSE Global Markets, and The Trade. Ms. Tierney received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. She is currently a candidate to complete Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst program, and she holds the Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 securities licenses.

 Mr. Edgar Perez, Author, The Speed Traders   Edgar Perez is widely regarded as the preeminent global speaker in the specialized area of high-frequency trading. He is author of The Speed Traders, An Insider’s Look at the New High-Frequency Trading Phenomenon That is Transforming the Investing World, published in English by McGraw-Hill Inc. (2011), in Mandarin by China Financial Publishing House (2012) and currently being translated into Bahasa Indonesia. He is course director of The Speed Traders Workshop 2012, How High Frequency Traders Leverage Profitable Strategies to Find Alpha in Equities, Options, Futures and FX (Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Warsaw, Kiev, New York, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Jakarta, London, Mexico City, Moscow, Ho Chi Minh, New York, Dubai and Chicago), and was Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, where he taught Algorithmic Trading and High-Frequency Finance. He contributes regularly to The New York Times and China’s International Finance News. Mr. Perez was a vice president at Citigroup, a senior consultant at IBM, and a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co. in New York. Mr. Perez has an undergraduate degree from Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, Lima, Peru (1994), a Master of Administration from Universidad ESAN, Lima, Peru (1997) and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School, New York, with a dual major in Finance and Management (2002). He belongs to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
Garnett Wilson  

Garnett Wilson is currently CEO of Afinin Labs Inc., St. John’s, Canada, where he develops evolutionary computation systems for equities trading. Mr. Wilson received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dalhousie University in 2007, and he is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University.
During his postdoctoral fellowship studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Verafin, Inc. he developed solutions for the detection of debit fraud and money laundering activity in consumer bank account data. Mr. Wilson is a member of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society's Computational Finance and Economics Technical Committee.

James Koutoulas  

James Koutoulas is the CEO of Typhon Capital Management, a CTA/CPO which operates the Arion Financials Program, Chiron Currency Program, Plutus Grain Strategy, and Tauros Livestock Strategy. Typhon also manages the Hydra Multi-Strategy Agricultural Fund, LP.
Mr. Koutoulas is the President and Co-Founder of the Commodity Customer Coalition, a non-profit customer advocacy organization formed in response to the MF Global bankruptcy. The CCC has 10,000+ members and works with regulators, Congress, and industry leaders to better protect commodities customers. Mr. Koutoulas has been a vocal advocate for commodity customers, appearing regularly on CNBC, Bloomberg, and CNN, featured in major national print publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Reuters, and has written advocacy pieces for ZeroHedge. Mr. Koutoulas is on the Board of Directors of the National Futures Association where he serves on the Executive and Appeals Committees.
Mr. Koutoulas has a J.D. from The Northwestern University School of Law and is a member of the Illinois Bar. He serves as a consulting expert to the Northwestern Investor Protection Clinic and is a member of Mensa. Mr. Koutoulas also has a degree in Finance from the University of Florida, where he was a National Merit Scholar, AP National Scholar, and Angelo Langadas Classics Scholar.

Jonathan Kanterman  

Jonathan Kanterman is an active member of the investment team; his focus and expertise is with domestic and international asset based lending strategies, both in single manager direct lending funds and funds of funds. He was responsible for helping with the growth and management of Stillwater Capital Partners.
Mr. Kanterman has over 16 years of investment management experience. Previously, he was the Managing Director of Valenzuela Capital Partners, LLC., a $2.2 billion money management firm. Mr. Kanterman also served on the investment committee where he headed portfolio review and analysis. Prior to joining Valenzuela Capital Partners, Mr. Kanterman was Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Woodford Gayed Management, Inc., where his responsibilities included portfolio management and investor relations for this $1 billion money management firm. Mr. Kanterman also has several years experience in venture capital and equity analysis.
Mr. Kanterman is a coveted speaker and panelist at industry events having recently spoken at the Hedge Funds World Conference, The Family Office & Private Wealth Management Summit and The Global Pension Funds Conference. In addition, Mr. Kanterman is often quoted in publications such as Business Week, Financial Times, Asia Times and Alternative Investment News. Mr. Kanterman was recently named one of the “20 Rising Stars of Wealth Management” by Institutional Investor. Mr. Kanterman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from The University of Miami School of Business.

Linus Nilsson   Linus Nilsson, CFA, CAIA, FRM joined John Locke Investments in 2013 as CIO where he oversees strategy development, risk and portfolio management. Prior to John Locke Investments, Mr. Nilsson served as the Head of Risk Management for IMQubator, a Dutch seeding firm managing portfolio and manager risk as well as trading a set of systematic strategies for the firm.
In prior roles, Mr. Nilsson served as a Senior Hedge Fund Analyst for Man Investments’ multimanager business, covering systematic managed futures strategies. He also served as Risk Manager for the External Fixed Income group for NBIM (Central Bank of Norway) where he built the active risk management capabilities for the group, and analyzed current and prospective investment managers. Mr. Nilsson started his career as an Investment Analyst for the Swedish managed futures fund of fund RPM AB, where he was responsible for manager selection as well as overseeing bespoke CTA portfolios.
He received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and a Master of Science in Financial Economics from the School of Economics and Commercial law at the University of Gothenburg, both in 2001.
Patrick	Kremer   Patrick Kremer is Portfolio Manager at Conquest Capital Group since 2004. Prior to that, he worked in Fixed-Income Research at Lehman Brothers. He is a sought-after speaker in the areas of modeling and trading of volatility arbitrage.
Mr. Kremer is a graduate with an S.B. in Mathematics with Computer Science and Management Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
R. Scott Morris   R. Scott Morris is an American author, financial engineer and quantitative consultant. He is president of Morris Consulting, LLC.
After joining a team of mathematicians and scientists working under Blair Hull at Hull Trading Company, he obtained an M.B.A from the University of Chicago, where he specialized in both finance and statistics. After becoming one of the world's premier market-making firms, Hull was acquired by Goldman Sachs, where he managed the equity trading financial engineering groups and continued his work on trading systems and statistical modeling. After two years, Mr. Morris became a Managing Director and led the firm's algorithmic trading division at the Automated Execution Strategies desk.
In 2006, Mr. Morris became CEO of the Boston Options Exchange Group, an automated equity options stock exchange. As CEO, Mr. Morris continued his engineering work, developing execution speed and messaging capacity for hedge funds and algorithmic traders.
Ram Ahluwalia   Ram Ahluwalia is currentlyPortfolio Manager of Winged Foot Capital. Winged Foot Capital is a quantitative investment management firm. Winged Foot Capital applies a systematic, multi-disciplinary, hypothesis-based approach to generating alpha across market regimes. Previously, Mr. Ahluwalia was a Senior Vice President at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and member of the Cards & Deposits executive management team responsible for investment decisioning a $120 Bn credit portfolio. Prior to this role, Mr. Ahluwalia was responsible for business development in the Merrill Lynch Global Bank Group where he developed strategic partnerships in the airline, hotel, and retail segments. As a management consultant at Inductis, Mr. Ahluwalia advised Fortune 50 financial services firms on best-in-class decision-making frameworks for acquisition and risk modeling. At the Cato Institute, Mr. Ahluwalia performed threat-matrix and operating cost-structure analysis for the Defense & National Security policy team. Mr. Ahluwalia received a B.A. in Economics-Philosophy from Columbia College.
Robert Cohen  

Robert Cohen is responsible for supervising investigations of large-scale market conduct, including possible violations relating to market structure, insider-trading, market manipulations, and institutional regulatory violations.
Mr. Cohen joined the SEC in 2004. He has been involved in significant enforcement actions involving investment advisers and investment companies, insider trading, market manipulation, and public company accounting and financial disclosure violations.
Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Cohen was in private practice and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr., United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law, where he served on the Law Review, and received a B.S. from Cornell University.

Sayena Mostowfi   Sanjeev Sharma is a New York based consultant with nearly twenty years of experience in technology, finance and venture capital roles in USA and Asia. He was one of the first managers in the early stages of National Stock exchange of India in mid 1990s. He provided leadership to many mission critical projects at IBM Corporation, USA and provided business and product development support to many early stage portfolio companies in the venture capital Industry.
